Labor Doula
I believe that birth is the most challenging, rewarding moment in a mom's/couple's life and I help to make it a positive event. I meet with the couple at least twice before the birth to discuss what their plans are, and to discuss any concerns they have and what they would like my role to be during the labor and childbirth. I am a Certified Childbirth Educator and can provide classes to them in their home if they wish. After the second meeting, and the contract signed, they will have 24/7 phone and email access to me. When labor begins, they can choose to have me come to their home or to join them at the hospital. Once with them, I stay for the entire labor and birth, and a few hours postpartum. The coach and I work as a team to help the laboring mom. With my RN Labor and Delivery background, I can help the couple understand terminology and what different medical options are available. They can discuss all options that are available to them with their doctor and make the best, safest choices. I also support whatever decisions they make regarding the use of medication. I meet with the new family soon after the birth to talk about the experience, and to answer any questions they may have. Professional Experience: RN 1975 to present. Working in Maternal/Child since 1983 with 13 years Labor and Delivery experience. Certified Childbirth Educator with ICEA from 1999 to present. Doula since March 2004 and DONA Certified doula since August 2005.

Labor & Postpartum Doula Grandma and Nanny
I am a professionally trained Labor and Postpartum Doula. I've had a degree in Nursing, since 1988, with an emphasis in Postpartum care and then NICU. I have been a Doula since 2003. I am now only working as New Born Nanny, in my home, while I take care of my grandbaby. I have four children, two born in the hospital, and two bonus children that came with my husband. I have three grandchildren. My daughter gave birth at home and I was blessed to be with her as her Labor and Postpartum doula. I will always cherish sharing the experience of my daughter becoming a mother. ( wonderful, wonderful ) I feel this has given me even more insight for what kind of help and encouragement new moms need. I have been a pre-school teacher, and am a Registered Nurse and Doula. I am still avalible to help you by phone with any of your questions or concerns. I just love families and want to help you to have a wonderful rewarding birth, with a calm satisfying transition to your new family and home experience. With my background in NICU I feel very comfortable with infants coming home with feeding problems, on medication, monitors or any other special needs. With my years of experience as a postpartum nurse and home visit nurse, I am very comfortable helping you with the postpartum changes you will be experiencing. Moms and Babies change daily in the first few weeks after birth. I can be helpful to you with all aspects of care needed during the postpartum period. I am still teaching the "Baby Basics class" monthly, so call me any time :)

Postpartum Doula Through my own experiences as a new mother, I know how thrilling, and sometimes overwhelming it can be, bringing a new baby home! I have 22 years experience in caring for newborns, have six children of my own, am a certified lactation educator (UCSD), and a DONA certified postpartum doula. As a doula, I'm dedicated to helping families through this amazing time in their lives, whether its with breast-feeding, baby care, running errands, help with older siblings, or if parents simply need reassurance, a sympathetic ear, and an extra pair of hands.

Labor & Postpartum Doula SPECIALIZING IN MULTIPLES As a doula I care for the mother and her family in the first few weeks following birth. I will provide support, assist with newborn care, sibling adjustment, meals and household organization. I offer evidence-based information on infant feeding, emotional and physical recovery from childbirth and other issues related to the postpartum period. I do not take over the care of your baby. My aim is to provide families with the knowledge, support and information that they need, in a non-judgmental manner. Equally important is my desire to make my clients feel emotionally comfortable, prepared and confident to be the leaders of their families. I believe that supporting families will empower them and therefore create stronger, healthier babies and communities. I have been a mother for the past 32 years of four wonderful successful children and loved each moment. I have a combined total of 3.3 years or 40 months breast feeding my children. It is best to arrange for postpartum care a couple of months before your estimated due date. This will give us a chance to meet and discuss the support you will need. I am registered though Trust Line, (California's background check registry for home care). Certified in Adult/Child/Infant CPR & First Aid Certified with DONA (Doulas of North America) Chapter co-leader of ICAN member of DASC (Doulas of Southern California) and CEA-OC Doris Kitchin LD, CPD(DONA) phone 951-233-0965 email ddoula01@airenetworks.com
Labor Doula
Giving birth is such a special, life experience one that should be cherished, and made personal to the new parents. As a mother of two, I remember desiring someone to be present who knew not only how to help me with the pain, but to help my husband know how to feel involved as well. Out of those experiences grew my desire to help others have the most positive experience they could have. I am a professionally trained birth Doula through DONA, and strive to help all mothers and partners have the birthing experience they desire, without judgments as to their own wishes.
